Description:

Levocetirizine dihydrochloride is a third generation antihistamine. It is the R enantiomer of Cetirizine hydrochloride, a racemic compound with antihistaminic (active H1-receptor antagonist) properties. its principal effects are mediated via selective inhibition of H1 receptors. It does not cause central nervous system adverse effects on memory, psychomotor performance and mood, notably sedation, which often are associated with the use of first-generation antihistamines.
