Oxrin 0.025% Pediatric Decongestant Nasal Drops: Each ml contains OxymetazolineHCl USP 0.25 mg.
Description:
Oxymetazoline is an imidazoline derivative sympathomimetic amine. It is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor agonist & also partial agonist of α2-adrenergic receptor. It is a potent topical decongestant. It causes constriction of the arterioles by acting on α-adrenergic receptors on the nasal mucosa. Thus it reduces blood flow and diminishes swelling of the mucosa, which results in improved potency of the airways and facilitates breathing of nasal passage. The onset of action is within seconds that lasts up to 12 hours.
Therapeutic Class: Topical Nasal Decongestant.
