• Liplo-10 Tablet: Each film coated tablet contains Atorvastatin Calcium INN equivalent to Atorvastatin 10 mg.
• Liplo-20 Tablet: Each film coated tablet contains Atorvastatin Calcium INN equivalent to Atorvastatin 20 mg.

Description

Liplo (Atorvastatin) is a synthetic lipid lowering agent. It is an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis. It inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts HMG-CoA to mevalonate, a precursor of sterols, including cholesterol. When less cholesterol is produced, the liver takes up more cholesterol from the bloodstream. This results in lower levels of cholesterol circulating in our blood. It is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia, heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, mixed hyperlipidemia in patients who have not responded adequately to diet and other appropriate measures,
