Description

Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrumbacteriostatic antibiotic that actsthrough the inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with the transfer of activated amino acids from soluble RNA to a ribosome. It is indicated for the treatment of ocular infection involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea caused by chloramphenicol-susceptible organisms. Such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus pneumonia, E. coli, H. influenzae, Klebsiella/Enterobacterspp, Moraxella lacunata, and Neisseria species.
