Presentation:
- Clon 0.5 mg: Each tablet contains Clonazepam USP 0.5 mg.
- Clon 2 mg: Each tablet contains Clonazepam USP 2 mg.
Description
Clonazepam is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. Like other benzodiazepines, Clonazepam enhances the neurotransmitter GABA via modulation of the GABA receptor. It has anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and very potent anxiolytic properties. It is also capable of suppressing the spike and wave discharge in absence seizure (petit mal) and decreasing the frequency, amplitude, duration, and spread of discharge in minor motor seizures. Clonazepam has a fast onset of action, high effectiveness, and low toxicity even in overdose.
Therapeutic Class: Anxiolytic.
